Not all spiritual seekers are practitioners, although seeking and practice may appear similar, they are not the same

A useful analogy can be drawn to watching an artist’s performance versus watching them practice. Spiritual practitioners are like the artists themselves, constantly crafting and refining themselves through dedicated practice, whereas seekers are like the audience, observing and searching for guidance.

In the world, there are more spiritual seekers than practitioners. People often turn to spirituality after experiencing difficult life circumstances and feeling a sense of confusion or helplessness. Many individuals may ask themselves “Why me?” after facing adversity, which subconsciously motivates them to seek answers in spirituality.

While some people may consciously recognize that spirituality can help them find the root cause of their struggles, others may simply engage in spiritual rituals and prayers to connect with something greater than themselves and find comfort from the pain and karma entangled with their sense of self. Nevertheless, many spiritual seekers make a conscious effort to identify the root cause of their issues and work towards resolving them. In contrast, practitioners are clear about the root cause of their suffering and limitations, and they understand the value of practice. They fully devote themselves to their spiritual practice.

The transition from being a seeker to becoming a practitioner is a journey, which is why there are many differences in spirituality, beliefs, and approaches. Everyone writes their own path if it helps them grow

However, sincere practitioners possess fundamental qualities such as focus, dedication, commitment, and determination. Without these qualities, no one can become a spiritual practitioner. Even individuals who practice without these qualities will struggle with consistency and persistence. Without consistency, there will be no growth.

The focus is essential because it enables individuals to concentrate their attention on their spiritual practice and avoid being distracted by other things in their life. Practicing focus can be done through meditation, breathwork, or other mindfulness practices that help to calm the mind and keep it centered.

Dedication is crucial because it is the foundation of any spiritual practice. It requires individuals to be committed to their practice and prioritize it in their daily routine. They must have a higher vision to pursue their spiritual path and be willing to put in the time and effort required to make progress.

Commitment is vital because it involves dedication to one’s spiritual practice, even when it becomes challenging or when there are other distractions in life. It means not giving up or losing faith in oneself and one’s abilities. Practicing commitment can be done through daily practice and setting goals that align with one’s spiritual aspirations.
