We recently wrapped up a heartwarming and enlightening “Community Gathering” offline event in Hanoi, and we want to express our gratitude to Weup company for their generous sponsorship, which made this gathering possible. During this event, our teacher shared some profound insights that we’d like to share with you.
Conscious Education vs. Formal Education
“True education is when we have enough awareness to solve problems effortlessly.” These wise words from Master Oneness set the stage for our discussion on the true essence of education.
Imagine life as a waterfall, with its constant ebb and flow. The water never perceives itself as failing; instead, it flows harmoniously, knowing it will return to the rivers, lakes, and seas. True education teaches us that “failure is the beginning of great success.”
However, if we look at the state of education today, we see a vast network of universities, training centers, and formal education systems. Yet, education focused on self-awareness is strikingly absent.
This void in self-awareness education has led to a cascade of global issues, including environmental degradation, economic instability, and heightened levels of fear and competition, even within the educational realm.
It begs the question: Are we investing our time, energy, and resources in education and diplomas without a clear purpose? Are we inadvertently raising our children to become mere money-making machines, destined to spend their earnings on consumerism and, ultimately, healthcare? It’s a cycle born of unconsciousness.
This is why education on self-awareness is so crucial. It continuously prompts us to awaken and ask fundamental questions: “Who am I? What is my life’s purpose? What defines my essence? What are my core values? How can I confront my fears? How do I nurture myself amidst life’s chaos?”.
Education isn’t merely about acquiring skills or talents; even robots can do that. With the advent of AI, skills can be developed more rapidly and efficiently than ever before. So, what distinguishes true wisdom? It’s the ability to forget and relearn, to balance the emotional rollercoaster, and to purify and heal oneself.
Without a deep understanding of these concepts, problem-solving becomes a challenge, leading to stress and a plethora of health issues. A quick glance at the state of our healthcare systems provides ample evidence.
True education means that even when you are alone, you never feel lonely. In times of stress, you don’t turn to alcohol for solace. Betrayal or self-doubt doesn’t erode your self-trust, and despair and turmoil don’t make you give up on yourself.
